Gerard and I decided to go out to eat at a nice Italian place for lunch. After we got our table and had gotten our drinks I looked at him from across the table.
"You never told me what happened at your old school." I said, curiosity burning in me.
"Oh, well it was stupid. Some kids, well the whole school really, told me to kill myself, so um, well I tried to." Gerard said embarrassedly looking at his feet. A deep sadness formed in me. It hurt me to think he felt like that. I grabbed his hand and held it against my cheek, stroking it with my thumb.
"Im so sorry Gee, I wish I could have been there to help you." I whispered softly.
"Its alright, your here now and that's all I need." He said with a smile. We just sat there looking at each other for a long moment then our stupid waitress came up with our food. She had long blonde hair pulled back in a pony tail, way to much foundation, and a shit load of perfume.
"If there's anything you boys need, let me know." She said with a wink. She was touchy with Gerard, stroking his arm, brushing her hand against visas she sat plates down. I also noticed the had unbuttoned her shirt three buttons. Gerard just smiled politely at her. I couldn't help but feel jealous. I just rolled my eyes and slammed my water down. Gerard gave my hand a squeeze.
"I can stay with you boys if you want, I mean it's not everyday I get to see someone like you." She said in a seductive voice.
Gerard smiled "Actually I'm on a date right now, so if you don't mind." He said still keeping polite.
"Well she's not here right now, so why don't you just let me stay until she gets here." She said sliding into the booth next to Gerard.
"Actually he is right here, so if you don't mind leaving now." Gerard said annoyance slight in his voice. The waitress jumped out of the booth.
"You mean him! You can do sooo much better than that emo scum." She yelled. I flinched, did people really think that I wasnt good enough? Did Gerard think that?
"Actually, no I couldn't, even if I could find someone better I wouldn't pick them, Frank is mine and that's that, now go away." He said mater of factly.
She huffed and stormed off. Gerard just laughed and turned to me.
"You alright?" He asked me.
"Yeah I'm fine." I said feeling a bit better after what Gerard said. I began to eat my vegetarian lasagna, which was surprisingly good. I noticed Gerard not really eating anything.
"Are you not hungry?" I asked him. "Your not sick are you?"
Gerard gave me a fake smile "Im fine, just not very hungry." I studied him for a moment. I noticed he almost never ate anything.
"I heard your belly growl in the car." I argued.
"Im just not fucking hungry." Gerard raised his voice a bit sounding angry. I shrink back.
"Im... I'm just worried about you that's all." I said weakly. I hadn't heard Gerard angry before, well not at me. Gerards expression softened.
"Im sorry babe, I'm well, it's nothing important really. I'm fine." He said.
"Then tell me if it's no big deal." I say stubbornly.
"God dammit Frankie, I just don't eat much. I was called fat a lot and I just was tteased a lot so I quit eating." Gerard said softly sounding weak. It was weird how he always seemed so strong and independent, but he needed someone there for him. I slid over to his side of the booth sitting close to him. I hugged him close to me.
"You should know that your not fat, your perfect, and not to mention sexy." I told him in his ear. Gerard smiled a bit.
"You promise?" He saked asked.
"I promise." I whispered before kissing his cheek. After that we both enjoyed out meals.
