Falling Skies

It's happening

Sky hadn't been anxious at all until then. Now that he had taken control, making her shiver with his kisses, she felt as though she was about to lose it all. His tongue was traveling down her skin and she had to swallow in order to keep herself from moaning. It felt good. Almost too good. And she didn't understand it. She didn't understand how he was enjoying this when she was the one who was supposed to make him feel good. That's how it worked, she was convinced of it. What he was doing didn't make any sense but the fact that he was doing it anyway made it feel even better.

She could tell he was nervous too when he took off her shirt, his hands shaking. It was almost completely dark in the room but she knew he was blushing and so was she, weirdly enough it reassured and relaxed her a little. The nervousness made room for anticipation. All she wanted was to touch him, kiss him like he was kissing her but his lips were already caressing her skin again, taking care of every inch of newly exposed skin, his coyness and gentleness driving her crazy. Although she hadn't thought that it was possible to love him more, in this moment, she did.

Finally, Sky pulled him up, dying to kiss him back. Poison almost seemed disappointed that she had interrupted what he was doing when he settled next to her, so close that their bodies were touching. It was exciting. She had already gotten to know how he felt but his naked skin on her naked skin was something so thrilling, virtually igniting sparks. Sky decided to take her time touching him, just like he had taken his, making his muscles tense and his breath quicken. The feeling, wishing she could memorize every single sensation, had never been that overwhelming, it was ridiculous. Even with his hardness pressing between them, she wasn't so scared anymore but she was still glad that he took control again, his hand slipping inside her panties, taking her breath away as he touched her there. It was crazy, knowing what he was thinking while being aware of the fact that he knew what was going through her mind too.

'Nothing's gonna happen if we do this, right?' Poison asked and she kissed him again as if to shut him up.

'I think a lot is gonna happen.' Sky smirked and nudged his nose with hers, making him smile too before pulling him on top of her.

'What if I hurt you?' he muttered, looking worried and she was touched by his concern.

'You won't. Don't worry. You could never hurt me.' she caressed his face, looking in his eyes, trying to reassure him, at the same time trying to reassure herself.

And as uncomfortable as it was when he finally entered her, it didn't hurt. Once she had gotten used to it, used to him, it just felt as right as she had expected it to feel.

She held on to him, closing her eyes, just concentrating on the way he felt inside of her, truly like they were made for each other.

*

It was difficult for him to recover his breath. Which made him smile even more when he realized that she was the only one who ever managed to steal it from him like this.

'Poison?' she asked, the sound of her voice and the way she said his name made another shiver run through his entire body.

'Hmm?' he just replied.

'Can we do it again?' Sky lifted her head which had been resting on his chest and although he had closed his eyes he could tell she was looking at him, probably with a cheeky smirk.

'Hmm.' he just said. 'As often as you like. But you need to give me a minute. Or two.'

He could feel her sitting up, immediately missing her skin on his but he was grateful for the opportunity to stretch. When he finally opened his eyes he was surprised to see her staring out the window behind him, her mouth open in shock.

'What's wrong?' he sat up, turning around to look and she pointed at the night sky although it was hard to miss what she had spotted.

Shooting stars. The night sky was lit up with them. He had never seen that many at once. It was beautiful and terrifying at the same time. An odd feeling seized hold of him and as Sky grabbed his hand he knew she was sensing it too. As absurd as it was, he had to think about what the Phoenix Witch had said. Something about how everything that happened was meant to be and written in the stars. It would be easy to just dismiss it as an old witch's metaphor or simply her way of making it sound so much more mysterious and significant. But they knew better.

'It's happening.' Sky just whispered and moved closer to him again.

They made love again and it wasn't as cautious anymore. Sky climbed on top of him before he knew what was happening and he sat up, dying to touch her and kiss her. He slipped into her with more ease this time and the smile on her face when he did made his heart skip a beat. The way she felt around him, so tight, warm and soft, that feeling alone making him almost lose his mind. When she started moving on him it took him by surprise but he gladly left her in charge, completely contented with her confidence. She wasn't scared anymore and neither was he. Poison wrapped his arms around her waist as she pressed his head against her chest and he kissed her breasts, making her sigh. He loved hearing the little noises she made whenever he touched her, kissed her, or moved inside of her. The only thing he wanted to do was making her feel the way she had made him feel.

'I love you.' Sky whispered into his ear, causing him to shudder even more.

'Does anyone know what the fuck happened last night?' Ghoul asked at breakfast and immediately both Sky and Poison blushed when she looked at him over the rim of her teacup, meeting his gaze.

'What do you mean?' Kobra asked back while trying his best to pretend he didn't see it.

'Am I the only one who saw it? There was the biggest meteor shower around 2am and then this morning, I see that something fucked up the instruments. Some of the frequencies weren't even working anymore and I'm getting some weird interference. I'm sure it had something to do with it.'

'I'll take a look at it after breakfast.' Poison just said, clearly avoiding the topic.

But instead of meeting Ghoul in the radio room, he was there in Sky's room, waiting for her as she returned from her shower. She knew this was gonna happen. She knew that once they started, they wouldn't be able to stop. That's why a part of her wished they would have waited. Even when he undressed himself, even when he kissed her and his hands traveled down her body, his fingers finding that overly sensitive spot between her legs, making her moan out his name, even if this was the only thing they were supposed to do, it was still a distraction that came at a very bad time. Why did it have to feel that good?

When Poison finally left her to go check out the radios, Sky met with Jet for a training lesson. Since he had mastered the art of blowing things up, she wanted to learn from him. And even though Poison had objected to it, arguing that it was way too dangerous, Jet, Kobra and Ghoul had helped Sky convince him to finally agree.

It wasn't that difficult. What was important was a steady hand and an eye for details. And of course, patience. The latter, Sky didn't have but she ensured Jet that she could manage to wait for a BLI truck, just so she could blow it up.

'You know, I'm sure you and Poison have a lot going on right now. We'd understand if you want to take care of that first.' Jet said and she looked up, surprised at what he had just said.

'What do you mean?' Sky asked, somewhat confused.

'Well...the Phoenix Witch, finding out about your past, this guy named Korse. I know you think that helping us with our plan is the most important thing. I know that you wanted to keep looking and Poison was the one who decided to go ahead with our mission first. I think that was a mistake. He probably just did it for us because he didn't want to let us down. But honestly, maybe you two need to solve your puzzle first. If what the witch said is true and you really have been sent here for a reason and because you're really powerful, it's important that you find out why first.'

Sky agreed with everything Jet was saying. But it wasn't as easy as that. Nothing was.

'No. We're a group. We're a family. We need to do this together. And we need a leader. Poison and I can't just run off and do our thing.'

'Maybe you have to. Korse, wherever he is, I'm sure he's still looking for you. Both of you. He might even know that you're together now, which means he probably wants to separate you again.' Sky hadn't even thought about that. Even last night, after the flashback, they had been too preoccupied with each other to really talk about what had happened.

'They said we were valuable and dangerous and that they couldn't let Korse get us. I think that's why they released us early. Because he had found out about us.' Sky muttered and Jet nodded. 'But that means we have to stay here. We need you guys.'

'We'll always protect you. But maybe it's time you let us do our thing. Let Kobra, Ghoul and myself take care of the new rebels and the BLI plan. And you and Poison work on finding more answers.' Jet explained.

Sky was just about to disagree with him when they heard Poison's voice on the radio.

*

'Jet, get Sky back to base pronto.'

Ghoul looked at him, clearly worried. They had just picked up a BLI signal, not sure where it was coming from.

'I'm having trouble locating it. And even if I could, who knows if it would be the right coordinates. Ever since last night, everything's kinda weird.' Ghoul said and continued to look down on his map of still functioning radio towers, trying to triangulate the location of the transmitter.

Poison couldn't even concentrate on what he was saying. In his head, the voice was repeating the same words over and over again.

'We have the Stargazer. Korse is on his way.'

'It could be a trap, Poison. Like back when they got Cherri Cola. Maybe they hacked into our system, knowing we would pick up the message and search for its origin.' Ghoul pointed out.

Poison knew it was the most logical explanation. But would BLI really rely on their old tricks to get them? If they hacked into their system, they might as well locate them and kill them in their sleep. Why bother luring them away from the diner?

Jet and Sky arrived 20 minutes later, clearly alarmed by the urgency of Poison's earlier radio call. He just looked at them and motioned Ghoul to replay the recorded message. At the mention of Korse, Sky's face turned pale.

'Where did that come from?' she asked.

'Trying to locate it right now.' Ghoul answered, his eyes nervously wandering from Sky to Poison and back again.

The silence in the room was heavy, almost making him angry since there was nothing he could do about it.

'It might take a while. And I can't work if you're all just standing there. Scram.' Ghoul grumbled.

Half an hour later, Jet, Sky and Poison were still sitting in a booth, waiting to hear from Ghoul. Poison had resorted to playing Vend-a-Hack at the vending machine outside but had given up after a few tries, too fidgety to continue.

'I need to talk to you.' Sky said after another 15 minutes and he noticed her giving Jet a nod before they got up to go to her room.

'This is a sign. A sign that we need to keep looking for our answers. Just like Jet said. Believe me, I don't wanna run. I don't want to leave anyone here to clean up the mess I created.' Sky had told him what her and Jet had talked about. And although he could tell she was unhappy and feeling guilty about this proposal, he knew Jet was right.

As much as Poison wanted to deny that what Jet was saying was true, he couldn't. Yes, he had responsibilities as their leader but there was no doubt that Sky and him were part of something bigger. Something that could probably help everyone else once they figured out what exactly it was. Hopefully they would be able to kill two birds with one stone.

A knock on the door interrupted them before they could make a decision.

Ghoul had located the transmitter. And not only that, there was another message playing.

'Stargazer not cooperative. Korse requests back-up for interrogation.'

'Who's the Stargazer?' Sky was confused. He could tell that deep down she knew the answer but was too scared of admitting it, so he did instead.

'I think it's whoever created us. Which means, once they start interrogating him, they will find out all there is to know about us. We need to get to him before he talks. Get your guns.'

Notes

Hope you like! I hate writing 'love scenes' and I think I suck at it. I'm good at writing smut but I don't know...with this story, smut wouldn't work. Or at least it wouldn't right now. Who knows what happens later in the story haha but yeah, hope you still somewhat enjoyed the fluff ;) feedback would be appreciated as always

thanks for reading xo
