Bang the Doldrums
*Mikey's POV*
I quickly wrapped my arm in a paper towel and threw on a long sleeve shirt. "There, that should do it." I said as I heard the doorbell ring. "Finally." I say with a sigh. I ran to the door and peeked out the window to make sure it was who I called. "Well, here goes nothing." I let out. I open the door and I'm greeted by a warm smile and a right squeeze. "MIKEY!! I haven't seen you in 2 years! How are you?!" he said. "PETE!! I've missed you so much man! And I've been pretty good. A few bumps here and there." I said lying. Pete Wentz, my best friend back when I was a kid. We used to do everything together. Our parents always told us we were inseparable. Until one day they moved across state. Then I only saw him maybe once a month. Then not at all. "So how have you been?" I said breaking my thoughts. "Pretty good! I've made some really good friends. They all want to be in a band someday, haha. I hope we can make it work!" he said smiling. "Yeah! Gee and Ray wanted to start a band with the four of us too!" I said. "Four??" Pete wondered. "Oh! Right his name is Frank Iero, Frankie for short. He's Gerard's boyfriend." I say. "Oh right on Gerard! Didn't know he had it in him!" He said with a chuckle. "Would you like to come in? Maybe we can catch up. No one's home right now anyways." I offered. "Yeah sure!" he said.

After talking with Pete for about 2 hours I finally got to tell him what I needed him for. "Hey, you uh, you know Ray... right?" I ask. "Froman?! Of course I do! How has he been?" Pete asked. "He's uh, he's been good. But I gotta tell you something. Me and Ray... we uh... dated for a few weeks. Right after I broke up with my girlfriend Alicia. And we were good for a while, until I realized I hadn't moved on from her, and we kissed. And he left me. And I don't know what to do now because it just hurts. A lot." I say ready to cry. " Aww Mikes. All I could say to that is you two probably need time. Maybe you just need to expand your options. Date some other people. Nothing serious. Just dates. Then see if you still love Ray and if he loves you. Then things will get better." He said smiling and pulling me into a hug. "Thanks Pete. I really miss having you around." I said. "Me too Mikes, me too." he said looking at me. We spent the next 3 minutes in silence until he said "Hey, let's go out and get some food. Go relive the good ole days huh?" He asked. "Yeah sounds fun!" I said.
