Rock And Roll Ruined My Life- Chapter 15- Sarah
“I remember this place,” Frank said as we pulled up to my Aunt and Uncle’s house.
“Yeah me too,” Bob said. Lindsey pulled over onto the side of the street and put the car in park. Sarah, Gerard, Lindsey, and me got out of the car. Gerard took Sarah’s stuff out of the trunk. We all waited for the cars to pass before we crossed the street and walked up to the dark front door.
“How are you feelin’?” I asked her.
“Okay I guess,” she shrugged. I nodded and then rang the doorbell. My Uncle, as always, answered the door.
“Hello!” he greeted us.
“Hi, Uncle Joe,” me and Sarah said in unison.
“Come inside all of you,” he said moving out of the doorway.
“Is Aunt Mary here?” I asked him.
“Yes she’s here. Would you like me to call her down?”
“Yeah, because you both have to sign these papers,” I said holding up the envelope.
“Oh, okay. Mary!” He called up the stairs.
“What?” Was my Aunt’s cold reply.
“Sarah’s here and she needs you to sign some papers!” I heard an annoyed sigh before I heard footsteps trudging down the hallway.
“Oh. Hello,” was my Aunt’s greeting to me, Lindsey, and Gerard.
“Hi, Aunt Mary,” I responded.
“Okay where are the papers?”
“Right here,” I said holding up the envelope, “but maybe we should sit down in the dining room?”
“Sure.”
Once we all sat down Aunt Mary and Uncle Joe signed all of the papers and Gerard and Lindsey signed as witnesses to the signing, and we were done.
“Alright. Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to go back to taking my nap,” my Aunt said as she walked up the steps.
I turned to Sarah and gave her the biggest hug I could muster.
“Julie, you’re squishing me.”
“Oh! I’m sorry!” I apologized. I took a folded up piece of paper from my pocket and handed it to her.
“If you ever need anything, I mean anything, you call me okay? I love you so much Sarah,” I said with tears in my eyes.
“I love you too Julie.” I gave her one more hug then said goodbye to Uncle Joe and left. The car ride into Jersey was spent in total silence.
