"Ivy!" Calls my mum voice from somewhere downstairs. We play this game every morning. She calls my name, I don't get up. She bribes me with food, Well...that's a different story. "Ivy Thorn up now!" I try to remember why she wants me up so badly. "Is it pancake day?" I holler. "Ivy!" My mum says like a little kid "it's your first day if school!" Oh...I remember now. We moved...again. "So no pancakes?!" I ask. "I'll count to three ivy. 1-" she says. Uh-oh once she starts counting you better do what she says. I dash out of bed and down the stairs. "Good morning ivy." Says my mum. "Mourning." I say simply, inhaling my food.
"Now get dressed and ill show your your birthday present." My mum says now as I clear my dish. "Kay." I say and raid my bedroom for clothing.
I decide on a short black dress with skulls and gore printed upon it, hot pink lace stockings that have skulls as well, black fingerless gloves, my spiky black boots, and neon bracelets up my arms. Something casual for my first day at my new school. I know this school will be like all my others schools. I will be mistreated and bullied. Before I go back downstairs I straighten my colored hair and apply eyeliner to my green eyes.
When I dash downstairs again I'm waiting for reactions.
"What happened to my little girl?" My mum asked. "She grew up." I groan annoyed. "Sometimes I feel like I don't even know you anymore." She adds. I frown and think of the paramore lyrics "I'm not the same kid from your memory".
