Never Coming Home

All The Wounds That Are Ever Gonna Scar Me

Gerard smiled as he read the little side note from Bandit. He truly did miss her, and he couldn't miss anyone as much as he missed Frank. Frank was his whole world. He was supposed to go out to fight today, and he was nervous as hell.

"Hey Gee, how's Frank." The littlest Way, Mikey said. Gerard smiled, turning to face his little brother. He shouldn't be here, Gerard thought.

"Frank is fine. He actually wanted me to give you his love." Gerard responded. Mikey nodded, smiling so it reached his eyes. He's so sweet, Gerard thought, he deserves to be safe at home. The thought of anything happening to his younger brother sickened him.

"We get to play with guns today!" Mikey joked. Gerard laughed, not finding the joke funny.

"Yeah, uhm, Mikes? I want you to be careful okay? I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you got hurt." Gerard told Mikey with a serious expression. Mikey nodded, not too worried.

"Don't worry so much Gerard, I'm always careful." Mikey stated, making the older of the two roll his eyes laughing under his breath. The brothers then left to get ready to go out to battle.

º~Gerard and Frank's House~º

Frank paced the house extremely worried. He knew that Gerard would have to fight today. He also knew that it meant he most likely wouldn't be getting a letter today.

"Don't worry Momma, Daddy will be okay and home soon!" Bandit said giggling. Frank smiled, picking her up. Gerard had thought it would be funny and cute to make Bandit call Frank Mom, and it stuck.

"Yes honey I know, I'm just worried because I love your daddy a whole lot." Frank said. The little girl giggled again, squirming, trying to get down. Frank let her down, and she ran into her sisters' room.

Frank sat on the couch, biting his thumb nail nervously. All he wanted was Gerard to be home. That was all he truly wanted. He decided to watch TV, to hopefully distract him from his own thoughts. He growled in frustration as everything on the television was about the war.

He noticed the men outside, going to the houses of those whose loved ones had been lost in the war, telling them about the tragity. Frank had been praying everynight that they would never have to come to his house.

He shut the TV off angerly, going into the kitchen to maybe take his mind off of Gerard. He soon gave up though, sighing at the fact that he'd never forget about his boyfriend. He knew that once Gerard got back, they would become a family with their little girls. He remembered Gerard coming home that night, telling Frank that he'd been chosen for the war. He remembered breaking down crying on Gerard's shoulder. He remembered Gerard's promise that he'd be back before he knew it.

That promise had been broken.

Of course it seemed like forever. How could Gerard think that time would fly? Time doesn't fly when you miss someone as much as Frank missed Gerard. This was something he'd have to live with though. He didn't want Gerard to be away, but he knew he had to live with it for now.

Frank made himself coffee, sitting at the table, lost in thought. He gripped the coffee mug tight, not realizing that it was burning his hand. He did notice, though, the tears that were forming in his eyes and falling down his cheeks. He didn't want them to be seen. He didn't want to seem weak. There were plenty other familys who were missing thier husbands, sons, and fathers.

Yes, he had to be strong. He knew Gerard was tough. Gerard would make it. He had to make it, because that is something that he promised as well. Gerard never breaks promises unless he can do absolutly nothing to prevent it from being broken.

"Momma, I made this for you..." He heard Bandit mumble. Frank turned to her, taking the picture from her tiny hands. The picture showed Gerard, Frank, Bandit, Cherry, and Lily all together, holding hands. Frank smiled at it, tears of happiness now falling out of his eyes.

"Momma why are you crying? I'm sorry if you don't like it." Bandit whispered. Frank shook his head.

"No honey, it's beautiful. Thank you so much. I love it so much, just like I love you." Frank said, lifting the little girl onto his lap. She smiled at him and kissed his cheek.

"I love you too." She said. Then someone knocked on the door. Frank got up, placing Bandit on the chair and ran to answer it. He soon reggretted it though. Two soldiers stood on his doorstep. The first thing running through Frank's was, he promised. Tears formed in the little man's eyes.

The taller of the two soldiers then asked, "Are you Frank Iero?"

Frank nodded in response, trying to read the name on the dog tag they were holding. He just knew it couldn't be Gerard, it just couldn't be. The two men gave Frank a look of sympathy, making Frank's tears pour out freely.

"We wanted to let you know that Mikey Way was killed in action, we're very sorry."
