Tragic With A Capital T

Chapter One

Gerard

I sat at my desk, absent-mindedly twirling my pencil around my finger, not paying attention to a thing the english teacher, Miss Blackard, was saying. I anxiously waited for the bell signalling it was time for lunch, even though the hour long lesson had just started. I didn't usually come to school, only when I felt like it and on the days I had my favourite lessons, art and music. Today I had art, so I actually bothered to show up. I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of the door opening and closing. I lifted my head slowly and my eyes met a pair of mesmorizing green ones. I blinked and looked again to see the eyes belonged to a girl. She had pale skin and long wavy hair the colour of a firetruck. She noticed me staring and gave me a small smile before saying something to Miss Blackard. I wasn't sure what she had said. The teacher cleared her throat to get everyone's attention, as if the new girl didn't already have the whole class staring and whispering. "Class, this is Ariel. She's knew. Make her feal comfortable, or don't... I really don't care." Ariel blushed, turning the exact colour of her fiery hair. She looked around for somewhere to sit and smiled slightly when her eyes fell upon the seat right at the back of the room, just across from me. Half way through the class, I leant over and began speaking to her. "Hi," I said, trying to stay calm. "I'm Gerard." I was half expecting her to turn away and blank me like most of the people in this school. Why would such a stunning girl want to talk to me? "Hi." she smiled. "I'm Ariel. But you already knew that.. Fuck i'm such a dick." I laughed at her awkwardness, she was so cute. "Do you know anyone here?" I asked. She shook her head, embarassed. "You can sit with me and my friends at lunch if you like, I mean..only if you want to." This time it was her turn to giggle at how awkward I was. "I'd love to, thanks." For the remainder of the lesson I kept stealing glances at Ariel. She was too beautiful. Finally the bell for lunch rang and I put my stuff back in my bag and waited for Ariel to do the same. "Ready to meet my friends? They're awesome, I promise." Ariel grinned at me and we walked in comfortable silence to the dinner hall. When we got there the guys turned to look at me and their jaws dropped when they saw Ariel. Of course, the first out of his seat was Frank. "Hi, I'm Frank." he said kissing her hand. She giggled. "Nice to meet you, I'm Ariel." she replied. "Like the mermaid?" she nodded, giggling again. "That's why I dyed my hair this colour." Frank, Ariel and I sat down at the table, across from Mikey and Ray. They both introduced themselves and I asked Ariel to get out her time table to see if she had any lessons with us. "You have art with me, music with all of us, and english with me." I said. Frank took the time table and looked at it himself. "We have everything together apart from English and Art." Frank grinned. Great, she had most lessons with Frank. Now they were probably going to get together. I mean, who wouldn't want to go out with Frank? He's cute, funny, and plays great guitar. I have to admit, I did have the tiniest crush on Frank. But it was tiny, trust me. I was mostly into girls, Frank was just a small exception. "I feel like getting pissed tonight, the Way house?" Frank suggested. I glared at him. "Great first impression Frank." I rolled my eyes. "No it's fine, I'm glad you guys drink actually, my friends at my old school always moaned at me for drinking too much." My eyes widened. "You drink?" Mikey asked. Ariel nodded. "And smoke. My parents aren't too happy about it like but I don't really give a shit." I was shocked, Ariel seemed like the perfect girl. If I'm honest, the fact she drank and smoked just made her more attractive. And her voice when she swore.. damn. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't turned on just listening to her talk. "So are you coming tonight?" Frank asked Ariel. She nodded. "Sure sounds good." Everyone grinned at her response. Why wouldn't we? It wasn't every day an attractive girl agreed to hang out with us, or any girl for that matter. All too soon, the bell rang for the end of lunch and we all shuffled off to our classes. I had maths, then art. Maths was a long and boring our before art , where I got to see Ariel again. Turns out she's an amazing artist! Better than me, I'd say. Although when I told her, she thought otherwise.

Soon the day was over and it was time for us all to get wasted at my house. We met outside and all jumped in the car. Ray was driving, with Mikey in the front and me, Frank and Ariel in the back. Ariel between me and Frank like she had been at lunch. "Do you guys mind if we stop of at my house for like, 5 minutes? I just need to get something." Ariel asked. "Sure, where do you live?" Ray replied. "Just turn down this street." Ariel jumped out of the car and ran into her house. She returned a few minutes later with a backpack. I wondered what was in it. I asked her once she got back in the car. "Booze, Cigarettes and my pills." I wnted to ask what pills she was on and why she needed them, but I didn't. I'd only just met the girl, after all. "I know you're wondering what the pills are Gerard." she smirked. Damn. I blushed. "It's fine, it's Xanax." She was on Xanax? But that must mean she wasn't completely happy. You don't just take Xanax for no reason. Ray pulled up at my house and we all clambered out of the black car. We walked into the kitchen to see my mother sat at the kitchen table. "Hey boys..." her eyes widened when she saw Ariel. "Oh, who's this?" she got up and rushed over. "This is Ariel-" "My Girlfriend." Frank butted in, earning a playful slap on the arm from Ariel. "In your dreams Frankie. Nice to meet you Mrs Way." she smiled at my mom. "Please, call me Donna." With that, we all went downstairs into the basement. We sat drinking, smoking, and talking for the whole time. Just like we usually did, but this time we were getting to know Ariel better. "Well I moved here a few weeks ago when my mum and dad split up, I live with my mum now. My dad's back in Baltimore." she explained. "Do you still see your dad?" Frank asked. Ariel shook her head. "I couldn't give a shit about him, he's a dickhead anyway." She took a last large gulp of her drink and placed the bottle down on the coffee table. "Do you guys wanna stay here tonight?" Mikey asked. "Actually I have to be home, sorry." Ray replied sadly. "Yeah, me too. Some other time maybe?" Frank agreed. "What about you Ari?" I asked her. She nodded. "I'll stay. My mom won't mind." I grinned at the fact Ariel had agreed to stay over. "She can sleep in your room." Mikey said. I smirked. "Fine by me."

Soon after sleeping arrangmenets had been made, Ray and Frank left and Mikey went to bed, leaving me and Ariel alone. Both of us drunk out of our minds. "Thanks for tonight Gerard. You guys made me feel... important again." Ariel slurred miserably. "You are important baby." I told her, moving closer. "As if, I'm an alcoholic with depresssion, why would any one want me?" she sighed. I moved closer again. "I want you." I whispered in a low voice. Ariel looked up at me with a look in her eyes, that look was none other than pure lust and it was the hottest thing I'd ever seen. She crawled towards me on the old sofa and twirled a piece of my hair in her hand, never breaking the eye contact. Our faces were inches apart and her breath hot on my lips. I slowly leaned in closer and closed the gap between our lips. Our lips moved in perfect sync and soon our tongues were exploring each others mouths. "I need you. Now." Ariel said in a seductive voice. "Of course baby."
