Make or Break Fanfic?

What makes a fanfic really good (make) or really rough (break)?
I'm thinking:
Make - Lots of detail
break - GRAMMAR MISTAKES!!

@CosmicConstellation
A lot of things can make for good fics, but I have a couple things that really break it for me;
- Grammar. Everybody makes some mistakes and I totally understand a few typos or whatever, but some fics out there are horribly written. AND WHEN SOMEONE WRITES DEFIANTLY INSTEAD OF DEFINITELY.
- Things happening too fast or too slow. I stopped reading The Dove Keeper because it was too drawn out for my liking and all they were doing was having sex. But some fics happen way too fast and there's no buildup or climax-- I've read fics before where it's like the main character has dilemma after dilemma after dilemma and it only takes them like five minutes to fix each problem. Pick one plot and stick with it; If they have a problem, stick to it. Especially in mental health fics-- Mental illnesses aren't treated in a day. Which leads us to...
- When people do absolutely no research. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY SEX SCENES I'VE READ THAT ARE NOT ACCURATE? PEOPLE DO NOT BEND THAT WAY AND GOING IN DRY ISN'T SEXY. IT'S PAINFUL. I am not a gay man, so obviously I do not know the minor details to gay sex. But there are certain things that are just so inaccurate it's almost painful to read. And it's not just the sex scenes; It's different aspects that people don't research. I'm ALWAYS researching stuff for my fics because I want them to be as accurate as possible. How hospitals work, pregnancy, how to get away with murder, prisons, etc. It bothers me when people don't do their research.
So yeah, that's a few things that really break a fic for me.

SERIOUSLY
I was reading "You Can Cry All You Want To, I Don't Care" But they met AND hooked up in the first chapter which kinda ruined it for me.
Filler chapters are good too, cause they make it seem like time is passing between events.

@CosmicConstellation
I actually don't mind them hooking up early on, but first chapter does seem kinda fast. Like unless it's pwp, then by all means they can sex it up in the first chapter. Haha. Personally I prefer longer stories with more plot than just the smut, but I guess not everyone does.

Well for me, I totally hate it when it comes to Teacher and student who hooks up right after first class and fall in love immediately I mean come on the dude is risking his job and life for a student and who falls in love in just one day?, in my fictions I do have grammatical error english not being my first language tends to show, but I still try my best to maintain a great grammar, about the love part, it took me a while to finally write their "I love you" but throughout the chapters it was there showing. Even stories that constantly contain them two fucking around like in every chapter... give them a break for the love of god xD

Simultaneous orgasms and women that don't seem to need anything more than a bit of kissing and a quickie. Occasionally, someone throws in a little more as foreplay, but that's it. Yeah... (I hate the teacher thing too. Evidently, all they need is 15 minutes to know whether or not the kid is worth risking jail and their career)

"You can cry all you want to, I don't care" Is my favorite fic. I personally think it was perfectly written and I don't think the hookup was too soon.

@Icantstaystronganymore
Glad you like it :) I've heard amazing things about it, but I wasn't really into the writting style..
